The 50,000-minute cell phone

My first cell phone purchase was based on David Pogue’s 2003 recommendation: a Kyocera 2325. And last week, after over 49,000 minutes of talk time, it finally stopped working.

I was waiting for the call time to hit 50,000 minutes to take a picture, but the screen didn’t quite make it. Cell phones pricing is generally tied to a service contract, so cell phones are frequently dumped after a year. I’d like to hear from people who have made the most of a well-made phone. Have you hit the 50,000 minute mark? 100k minutes? More? Please share.

Which phone did I replace my Kyocera with? Thanks to the eBay resale market, another Kyocera 2325, with only 20,000 minutes already on it.
